Man wanted in three out-of-state murders captured in KC
A man wanted on out-of-state charges involving three murders was arrested Tuesday evening in Kansas City after he tried to escape through a wooded area near Missouri 350 and Blue Ridge Cutoff.
Kansas City police and the U.S. Marshal’s office tracked the suspect, whose name was not immediately available, to the Crown Lodge Hotel at 8500 E. Missouri 350 about 8 p.m. A police helicopter unit kept track of the suspect as he ran through the woods in the area marked by 350, Blue Ridge Cutoff and 63rd Street. Canine units also were deployed.
The suspect surrendered about 40 minutes later. A woman believed to have been trying to call the suspect on a phone was also taken into custody.
