Two convicted in Missouri of tax fraud
A federal jury in Missouri convicted a Connecticut man and a Georgia woman Monday for making false claims for tax refunds.
Jurors found Nkosi Gray, 40, of New Fairfield, Conn., and Kimberly Johnson, 43, of Chickamauga, Ga., guilty of filing false claims.
Each falsely claimed refunds due to over-witholding of taxes. Gray received a $278,874 refund, while Johnson filed for a $61,959 refund on behalf of another person.
