A 70-year-old man was playing a game of “quick draw” when he accidentally shot a 10-year-old boy in the face Saturday in southeast Wichita, police said.
The shooting occurred shortly after midnight.
The shot grazed the right side of the boy’s face, Nolte said. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and released.
The victim was at the house of a 14-year-old friend, Nolte said.
“The suspect is a friend of the 14-year-old’s mother,” he said.
Robert M. Dugan was arrested on suspicion of endangering a child and aggravated battery. He is being held at the Sedgwick County Jail.
