Two wounded, several arrested after early morning shootings
Authorities apprehended several persons, two of them with gunshot wounds, after an early Sunday shootout.
Kansas City, Kan., police officers saw shots being fired shortly before 1 a.m. in the 1800 block of Ridge Avenue.
They pursued two vehicles, one of which was involved in an accident near North 18th Street and Grandview Boulevard. Several occupants left that car and ran to the 1100 block of Ella Avenue, where officers apprehended them. Two people with gunshot wounds were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Other officers continued to pursue a second vehicle across the state line, where Kansas City, Mo., officers took other individuals into custody.
