Temperatures could hit 50 Sunday

It might be tempting to break out the flip-flops this weekend as temperatures in the Kansas City metro will be much warmer than usual.

“High temps on Sunday will rise into the 50s in KC for the first time in 2014!”

Saturday also could have above normal temperatures with highs reaching into the middle 40s.

The normal high for Kansas City this time of year is 38 degrees.

The warming began Friday as highs reached 41 degrees in downtown Kansas City by mid-afternoon.

Friday night’s low was expected to drop to 28 degrees, which would be 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.
