Driver dies in crash on Missouri 350 in east KC

Kansas City police shut down the westbound lanes of Missouri 350 at Northwest Colbern Road on Tuesday after a 59-year-old Lee’s Summit man died in a one-vehicle crash.

The wreck happened just before 11 a.m. a half-mile east of Noland Road when a pickup truck veered off the right side of the road and slammed into a rocky bluff. The driver didn’t appear to brake, said police Sgt. Bill Mahoney. The driver, who was alone, died at a hospital. Police were trying to determine why he left the road and whether he was wearing his seatbelt.
