Belton releases name of man who died in mobile home fire
Authorities on Monday identified the Belton resident who died last week in a mobile home fire as Danny Emmons, 65.
Neighbors in the Springdale Lake community alerted firefighters at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday after seeing flames coming out of the windows of Emmons’ residence.
Emmons used space heaters to warm his home, one neighbor said, and used two canes to get around the unit due to health issues. Other neighbors, as well as public safety officers, reported hearing what sounded like ammunition rounds detonating within the mobile home as it burned.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, said Kevin Livingston, Belton deputy fire chief.
