Guilty plea in KCK credit union robbery
A 65-year-old man pleaded guilty Monday to robbing a Kansas City, Kan., credit union in May.
John Noon, of Kansas City, Kan., pleaded guilty to one count of armed bank robbery for the hold-up of the Community America Credit Union at 10824 Parallel Parkway, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors said that Noon gave a teller a note demanding money and then showed a gun before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money. Tips from the public led investigators to Noon after bank video surveillance photos from the robbery were publicized.
A sentencing date will be scheduled later. Noon faces up to 25 years in prison.
