KCPD names first homicide victim of 2014

Kansas City police on Friday identified the city’s first homicide victim of the year as Jose Medellin, 40.

He was found fatally shot about 8 p.m. Wednesday in an apartment building in the 4000 block of Harvard Circle. Witnesses told police they saw two people running from the scene.
