Man suspected of robbing bank is arrested on bus minutes after holdup

A man suspected of robbing a Kansas City, Kan., bank Thursday was arrested on a city bus shortly after the crime.

Jamarr R. Dale, 29, of Kansas City, Kan., robbed the Security Bank branch at 10840 Parallel Parkway about 9:15 a.m. Thursday, according to charges filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan.

According to an affidavit filed in support of the charges, Dale handed a note to a teller that stated, “I need $3,000 or I will start shooting.” The teller handed him money from a cash drawer, and he stuffed it into a coat pocket before running out of the bank, according to the allegations.

Witnesses saw the robber running from the area and boarding a bus at a stop around the corner from the bank.

A few minutes later, police officers boarded the bus and arrested Dale, who was carrying a “large amount of cash,” officers at the scene reported.
