Children’s Mercy Hospital renames its main campus after Adele Hall
Children’s Mercy Hospital has renamed its main campus after one of its principal philanthropists, Adele Hall.
The Hospital Hill facility is now called Children’s Mercy, Adele Hall Campus.
Hall died in January. She had been a major benefactor and volunteer for 50 years, including serving as board chairman and trustee.
Hospital chief executive Randall O’Donnell said the renaming reflected that Hall “could bring people from all corners of the community to the table to be involved in supporting the hospital.”
The Hall family and the Hall Family Foundation have given tens of millions of dollars over the years to the hospital. A $50 million gift helped a recent building campaign.
“We think this is a wonderful way to honor Adele, and it will always remind me of the joy she gained from rocking babies here,” said Donald J. Hall, Adele’s husband and chairman of Hallmark Cards Inc. “After her own family, Children’s Mercy and this community were her top priorities.”
