Bathroom-themed restaurant in LA serves ‘golden poop’ rice
It’s called the Magic Restroom Cafe, but there is really no mystery here in what is being called America’s first bathroom-themed restaurant where patrons sit on toilets to dine.
This is a s@#$%y idea.
The Los Angeles Times reports that YoYo Li, a first-time restaurant owner from China, borrowed the idea from the Modern Toilet chain of eateries in China and Taiwan.
Everything in the restaurant has a potty theme – the dishes, the menu items, the seating.
The Times reports that since the cafe opened on Oct. 11, Yelp reviewers are more awed by the decor than the food, complaining about slow service and cold food.
According to
, customers can order a chocolate sundae called “black poop,” braised pork over rice called “smells-like-poop” and a “bloody number two,” a vanilla-strawberry sundae.
“If the imported miniature toilet bowl ceramicware used extensively by the restaurant doesn't offend you, imagine it filled with goopy brown curry,” wrote the la.eater reviewer.
“If diarrhea-looking food swimming in a toilet bowl still doesn't offend, understand the dish is named signature ‘golden poop’ rice.”
Probably best to say away from the No. 2.
