Report: Jack Nicholson retires from acting
.
A Hollywood source tells the website that the 76-year-old actor, who hasn’t been seen in a movie since 2010’s “How Do You Know,” has officially called it quits after five decades and three Oscars.
"Jack has — without fanfare — retired," says the source. "There is a simple reason behind his decision — it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.
"His memory isn’t what it used to be."
He’s still a regular at Los Angeles Lakers games, so “he’s not retiring from public life, at all. He just doesn’t want a tribute,” says the source. “He’s happy to tacitly join the retirees club like Sean Connery.”
No word from Nicholson’s camp on the report.
