KC mayor appoints former councilman Ford to remain on development board

Kansas City Mayor Sly James has appointed former City Councilman Ed Ford to continue serving on the board of the city’s Economic Development Corp.

Until he left office due to term limits last month, Ford had been on the board by virtue of his chairmanship of the council’s Planning, Zoning and Economic Development Committee.

Councilman Scott Taylor succeeded Ford in that post and will also be serving on the EDC board.

James also appointed Madeline Romious to the EDC. She is regional vice president of external affairs at AT&T.

The Economic Development Corp. works to attract new business to the city and provides services to the Port Authority, Tax Increment Financing Commission and other agencies.
