Four more heat-related deaths confirmed

The Kansas City Health Department reported Friday that the Jackson County medical examiner’s office has confirmed four more deaths this summer as heat-related, bringing the total to five on the Missouri side of the metro area.

The newly confirmed cases include three men in their late fifties, late sixties and early seventies and a woman in her mid-eighties. Two additional suspected heat-related cases remain under investigation.
