Two hurt when car hits Lenexa restaurant

Two people suffered minor injuries Thursday morning when a car crashed into the front of a Lenexa restaurant.

The accident happened about 8:30 a.m. outside the Panera at 87th Street and Lackman Road. Lenexa police said an elderly driver inadvertently pushed his gas pedal, causing the vehicle to jump the curb.

The injured people were eating outside at the time. One was treated at the scene. The other was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
