Crews repair water main break in downtown Kansas City

Crews worked through the early morning hours Sunday to repair a 10-inch waterline that broke in downtown Kansas City.

The main broke Saturday evening. Kansas City Water Services sent out an advisory about 10 p.m. saying people might experience low water pressure or no water because of the break on East 12th Street near Grand Boulevard.

The age of the broken pipe was not available, however, it is in the area of some of the oldest infrastructure in Kansas City, said Jennifer Kincaid, a spokeswoman for Kansas City Water Services.

Water should be restored by 11 a.m. Sunday, she said.
