Body found in river identified as Olathe man

Authorities on Monday identified a body recovered last week from the Kansas River as an Olathe man.

Kansas City, Kan., police identified the man as John G. Simpson, 34.

Last Wednesday, officers responded to a call in the 5800 block of Kansas Avenue and found the body. The cause of death could not be determined, and the incident remains under investigation by Kansas City, Kan. police.
