Part of Midtown Kansas City under water boil precaution
A part of Midtown Kansas City that includes the Hyde Park area is under a boil alert as a result of an electrical problem at a water pump station.
The Water Services Department said the area affected is generally between Southwest Trafficway and Holmes Road and between 30th and 39th streets.
The area lost water pressure, possibly allowing contaminants to enter the water line. Customers are advised to boil tap water vigorously for three minutes before consuming. The boil alert will be lifted once the water has been tested and its quality confirmed.
