Aggieville bar Shot Stop is coming to Waldo
An Aggieville bar concept is coming to Waldo.
Shot Stop plans to open at 7439 Broadway, in the former Point Loco Cantina space, in late May.
Owner Brett Allred grew up in Overland Park and graduated from Kansas State University in 2006. He stayed in Manhattan, opening four restaurant and bars, including his first Shot Stop in early 2009.
Shot Stop offers shots and bottles starting at $1.50 and customers can select from a 20-foot long shot menu board featuring about 100 different kinds.
"I think they like the variety and options we offer," Allred said. "Aggieville is a high-foot traffic area. People come in and have a shot and maybe go on to another bar."
Or they can stick around.
Shot Stop also will offer a "sports bar menu" that will include burgers, wraps and salads.
Allred also is looking at other possible Shot Stop locations in high-traffic Westport and in other university towns.
