Several dozens of registered nurses and supporters rallied in an informational picket in front of Research Medical Center Thursday evening.

They carried signs saying, “Patients are our #1 priority,” “RMC RNs standing up for our patients” and “RMC RNs want our fair share.”

The 610 nurses, affiliated with the National Nurses Organizing Committee, have been working with an expired contract since May 31.

The union is focusing on what it says are inadequate staffing levels and wages at the hospital. The hospital has said it is “always focused on staffing appropriately to meet our patients’ needs.”
