Amber Alert in KCK canceled for mother and 2 boys. All were found safe, police say
Editor’s note: The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has canceled the Amber Alert out of Kansas City, Kansas. The KBI said Saturday night that the mother and children were located and were safe.
An Amber Alert was issued Saturday for two children who police said were forcibly taken from their home by their mother, who allegedly said she was going to harm herself and the children with a knife.
About 4 p.m. the mother, Taylyn Reed, took the two boys, Adrian and Jaylen Boose, from their home in the 4800 block of Locust Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas.
Police said Reed’s statements indicated the children were in imminent danger.
Reed left with the children in a gray 2020 Honda Accord four-door with a sunroof and Kansas license plate 3362AJH, according to the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department. The Amber Alert was also being circulated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
Taylyn Reed is 29 years old and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black pants. She has shoulder-length curly hair. She is Black, with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5-foot-7 and weighs 220 pounds.
Adrian Boose, age 3 months, was last seen wearing a blue-and-white onesie. He has a birthmark on his knee and thigh area. He is Black, with black hair and brown eyes. He is 12 inches tall and weighs 15 pounds.
Jaylen Boose is 3 years old. He was last seen wearing blue Paw Patrol pajama pants with no shirt. He is Black and has black, short, curly hair and brown eyes. He is 3 feet tall and weighs 45 pounds.
As of 8:56 p.m. police thought Reed and the children were still in the Kansas City area and possibly still driving the Honda Accord.
