Hallmark movie walk-on role is sweepstakes prize — ‘from mailbox to movie set’
By now hundreds of Kansas City area residents can boast that they’ve been in a Hallmark Channel movie — thanks to that little Christmas love story about the Chiefs that filmed here two summers ago.
Remember all those pour souls who had to sit in GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium sweating in the July heat, pretending for the cameras they were watching a game in winter?
If you missed out on your chance at cinematic glory, here’s another.
The Hallmark Channel has teamed up with Valpak for the “From Mailbox to Movie Set” sweepstakes in July. The prize? A walk-on role in an upcoming Hallmark movie. The movie hasn’t been identified yet.
The winner will also receive a behind-the-scenes look at the set and paid travel for themselves and a guest. (Just FYI, many Hallmark movies are filmed in Canada.)
Valpak is the Florida-based direct mail and digital marketing company that sends out those big envelopes stuffed with coupons for local and national businesses. The companies announced the contest Monday.
To promote the sweepstakes the July Blue Envelope, mailed to more than 40 million households, will feature the upcoming Hallmark+ limited series, “Paris is Always a Good Idea,” starring the queen of Hallmark movies, Lacey Chabert.
During July, Valpak recipients will also be offered more than 50% off a one-year subscription to Hallmark+.
“As longtime partners, Valpak and Hallmark Channel have created a giveaway that is truly special,” Valpak CEO John Amato said in a statement announcing the sweepstakes.
“Both brands have built trusted relationships with a shared consumer base that looks forward to what arrives in the mail and what they watch on screen, and this collaboration rewards them by turning an everyday trip to the mailbox into an unforgettable experience.
