Pleasant Hill shooting suspect and teenage victim are released from hospital: Updates
Allen Prince, the man charged in a shooting at a Pleasant Hill grocery store on Memorial Day, survived a self-inflicted gunshot wound and has been booked into the Cass County jail, police said.
A jail booking photo showed Prince with a large bandage covering half of his face.
Prince was released from a hospital Monday and was booked into the jail, where he is in custody without bond, according to a news release from Pleasant Hill on Tuesday morning.
A woman, Amy Coon, 45, was killed in the shooting in the parking lot of the Pleasant Hill Price Chopper, and a 16-year-old store employee was also injured. Police said Tuesday the teenager was released from a hospital and was continuing to recover at home.
Police have said that Prince began shooting in the store parking lot before he shot himself as he was confronted by two armed citizens. Prince was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Prince was charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action in Cass County Circuit Court.
Prince is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Wednesday morning, according to court records.
