Jackson County woman accused of shooting man multiple times during disturbance at home

An Oak Grove woman has been charged with domestic assault after she allegedly struck one man with a metal pole and shot another multiple times.

Stormy Kirkpatrick, 44, was charged with first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action, according to a Jackson County Circuit Court charging document.

Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence just before 5 p.m. Monday on reports of a shooting, according to a probable cause statement in support of Kirkpatrick’s arrest.

There, investigators found a victim lying in the driveway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the probable cause statement said. He was transported to an area hospital.

A witness, who reported the incident, told deputies Kirkpatrick allegedly shot the victim before running away f with a handgun, the court document said.

Investigators found Kirkpatrick hiding in the woods, “not far from the residence and taken into custody without incident.”

According to the probable cause statement, Kirkpatrick, the witness and the victim were in the residence’s master bedroom when the victim noticed Kirkpatrick had allegedly taken his keys, wallet and cellphone, according to the probable cause statement.

When the victim asked Kirkpatrick about his belongings, she allegedly “armed herself with a metal pole,” striking the witness with it, the statement said.

The victim attempted to take the pole away from Kirkpatrick and was also struck by the pole, according to the court document. Kirkpatrick exited the residence, followed by the victim.

Outside, Kirkpatrick allegedly retrieved a black handgun from a vehicle and shot toward the victim, the probable cause statement said. She then re-entered the residence and “demanded” the keys to the witness’ vehicle.

The witness recognized the weapon was jammed, and Kirkpatrick allegedly fled the scene after he armed himself with a baseball bat, according to the court document.

The victim, who was in critical but stable condition Monday, told investigators the woman was “off of her medication and possibly on narcotics,” the probable cause statement said. He said it is common for Kirkpatrick to take his items while having an “episode.”

Kirkpatrick was being held in the Jackson County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond, according to a warrant. No further court dates were set for the case.
