Child in Independence riding mini bike suffers serious injuries in collision
Independence police are investigating a crash involving a truck and a mini bike that left a juvenile with serious injuries Monday evening.
Police said in a news release that the crash involving a Toyota Tacoma truck and a mini bike happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 24 and Liberty Street. Police said the youth was riding the mini bike and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Independence police said the driver of the Tacoma remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation.
