The Kansas City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing woman last seen near Troost Lake.

Investigators believe 29-year-old Yasmine Khatib was last in the area of East 28th Street and The Paseo around 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from Capt. Jake Becchina, a spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department.

Khatib is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds, Becchina said. She has brown hair, brown eyes and may be wearing a black and white flannel shirt and black jeans.

Khatib’s family is worried about her “mental health state,” Becchina said. The woman also may need medication.

Anyone with information surrounding Khatib’s whereabouts is asked to call the police department’s missing person unit at 816-234-5043, Becchina said.
