How do you feel about the KC Royals’ stadium move to Crown Center?
The landscape of the Crown Center district will forever be changed once its new neighbors move in.
The Kansas City Royals announced its intentions April 22 to move the team to the Crown Center, a sprawling, 85-acre mixed-use shopping district near downtown Kansas City as part of a joint partnership with Hallmark Cards. This will take the place of the Hallmark headquarters buildings, while the Ice Terrace and Our Lady of Sorrows Parish will remain.
How do you feel about the Royals moving to Crown City?
On one hand, the move brings the Royals closer to downtown, a plan that had been looming for months. On the other hand, this puts the nail in the coffin for the Truman Sports Complex, as both the Royals and Chiefs will have new homes in the near future.
So what are your feelings about the Royals move? We want to hear from readers on if they’re excited about the Royals’ new home, or if there’s reason for concern. While we do have renderings and an idea of where it will be, there are still questions remaining about the new stadium.
