  • No wedding date announced; family and fans discuss lessons, choreography.

Brides who include a father-daughter dance at their wedding celebration expect the moment to be big and emotional, whether they’re waltzing with their dads or dazzling guests with surprise choreography.

It’s also the moment that makes many (most?) fathers and father figures nervous, especially if it means putting their dancing inabilities on public display, right after the couple’s first dance.

Which brings us today to Gracie Hunt and her dad, Chiefs CEO and chairman Clark Hunt.

Gracie is planning her wedding to Derek Green, son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green.

On Wednesday she posted a video clip that showed her dancing with her father after Green’s proposal in Mexico last week.

The NFL owner had a huge smile on his face.

“Dancing with your dad on the night of your engagement,” she captioned the video.

She set it to the weepy ballad song “Yours” by Post Malone, which includes these lyrics:

I don’t know who you are, but one day I’m going to

And it’s gonna break my heart when she gives hers to you

And it won’t be tomorrow but it’s gonna be too soon

When I walk her down that aisle and do what daddy’s have to do.

But who was paying attention to the music? Because what that video made clear, the one thing Gracie herself teased to, is that her dad could benefit from dance mini-camp.

“Don’t worry - we’ll get a few dance lessons on the calendar before the big day,” Gracie wrote, adding the winking and face-holding-back-tears emojis.

If Travis Kelce wasn’t busy planning his own wedding, we might suggest the tight end offer his boss some tips.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce joined in on the celebration with his "ride 'em cowboy" dance after tackle Wanya Morris scored a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 15, 2024, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Or maybe Gracie can teach her father how to Dougie, as in his viral father-daughter dance.

Raise your hand if you’d give up your season tickets to see Clark do this.

Some dads simply refuse to even do the dance, so points to Gracie’s dad for being game.

Gracie is prolific on social media and has quickly included her 589,000 Instagram followers in her wedding planning.

In the post showing her dad dancing, she also told her followers she needs their help, writing “what father-daughter dance songs do you love? Drop your favorites below. I’ll be saving every suggestion.”

Her mom Tavia Hunt, dropped laughing emojis on the first suggestion: “I vote flash mob / choreographed number for Clark!”

“This would be amazing,” Gracie responded.

Other suggestions included “Giving Her Away” by Luke Combs, “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts. “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw, “How Sweet It Is” by James Taylor, “Best Parts of Me” by Will Dempsey and two Taylor Swift songs, “The Best Day” and “Never Grow Up (Taylor’s Version).”

In January, Bride’s magazine published a list of 88 songs perfect “for this sentimental moment.”

That list included “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5, “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen, “Father’s Eyes” by Amy Grant, “Unforgettable” by Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole, and “I Loved Her First” by Heartland.

No date for the Hunt-Green wedding has been shared yet.
