The Kansas City Police Department said a 12-year-old girl who was reported missing Friday has since been found safe.

Police sought public assistance in finding a girl who was last seen Friday around 7 p.m. near 10110 E. 42nd Street, an apartment complex near Interstate 70 in Kansas City.

The girl was last seen wearing a white shirt with pink letters and black pants, according to a news release.

In an email Saturday afternoon, Officer Alayna Gonzalez said the girl was found safe.

Anyone with information about missing persons is urged to call 911 or the KCPD missing persons unit at 816-234-5043.
