Man reported missing from Kansas City last week found dead

A man who had been missing for nearly a week from Kansas City has been found dead, a police spokesperson said Wednesday.

Andrew S. Burns, 42, was reported missing after he was last seen Thursday near Independence and Prospect avenues in Kansas City’s Northeast area.

Police on Saturday asked for the public’s help in finding him, saying he was missing and considered endangered because he didn’t have medication that he needed in his possession.

Burns was found dead, and there were no signs of foul play, said Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a spokesperson with the Kansas City Police Department. The investigation into his death is ongoing.
