16-year-old charged with Ruskin High School shooting
A 16-year-old was charged as an adult Monday for an incident in November in which he allegedly shot someone outside Ruskin High School.
Arieous K. Walton-Merritt was charged with felony assault in the first degree and armed criminal action.
According to court documents, Walton-Merritt told police the victim had stolen an Xbox from him. The victim told police a car pulled up after school was over on Nov. 30 and Walton-Merritt got out with a .22 caliber rifle and shot him in the leg.
