3 injured when vehicles collide, sending one into Kansas City auto shop building

Three people were injured when two vehicles collided, sending one careening into automotive shop on a Kansas City corner, a fire department spokesman said.

Firefighters responded to a crash involving a car into a building about 11:50 a.m. Thursday in the 4200 block of East 31st Street in Kansas City’s Knoches Park neighborhood, said Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins with the Kansas City Fire Department.

Arriving firefighters found two vehicles that had been involved in a crash, one of which had crashed into the auto shop on the corner, Hopkins said. Three people were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The building suffered significant damage and firefighters worked shore up the building to remove the vehicle. Kansas City’s dangerous buildings division was requested to respond to the scene, Hopkins said.

No other injuries were reported.
