The Kansas City, Kansas, side saw a 35-cent increase, going from $2.62 to $2.97 in a week. The gas price increase is being felt across the country, with the average gas prices increasing from $2.99 to $3.47 in a week, a whopping 48-cent difference.

A gas price map on gasbuddy.com shows the cheapest reported gas is at Casey’s on 4111 Blueridge Cutoff for $2.37. The most expensive gas is marked up $3.49 at Sinclair on 2101 W. Pennway St.
Why is gas so expensive right now?
Multiple factors are causing an influx in gas prices. The United States attack on Iran on Saturday, Feb. 28, was one of them. The tensions can have an impact on the countries that get their gas from Iran, which impacts the U.S. prices, according to an AAA representative.
AAA also said that spring is the time when gas stations make the seasonal switch from winter blend gasoline to summer blend gasoline, which usually leads to a 10-15 cent gas price increase around March.
