President Trump has promised that Tuesday night’s State of the Union address will be a “long speech.”

He already holds the record for the longest speech to a joint session of Congress - one hour, 39 minutes and 32 seconds in March 2025. Tuesday’s speech is set to begin at 8 p.m. Central Time (CST).

So grab the popcorn. Or the bingo cards.

The Kansas Republican Party has invited the public to a State of the Union watch party at 7 p.m. that will serve as the grand opening of its new headquarters in Topeka. There will be pizza and “SOTU bingo.”

They’re not the only ones planning to break out the bingo cards.

State of the Union bingo cards created by radio stations, nonpartisan groups — and Canadians — have popped up online in recent days. People are DIYing their own, too, for family, friends and Facebook followers.

Glenn Kessler, who wrote the Fact Checker column for The Washington Post, has created his own interactive bingo game on Substack. “I always wanted to do something like this at The Washington Post but could never get buy-in from the top brass,” he writes.

They’re mostly for giggles — #DemocracyButMakeItFun. Squares are typically filled with topics and phrases the president is expected to use, or things that might happen during the speech.

The level of cheek, though, is oh so partisan.

“Mentions Nicki Minaj.”

“Trump promotes Melania’s movie.”

The nonpartisan League of Women Voters has downloadable State of the Union bingo cards on its website.

“The SOTU is a constitutional requirement in which the president delivers an annual message to a joint session of the US Congress. In theory, it is ‘a report on the nation’s current state and a preview of the president’s priorities and goals for the next year,’” the League says on its website.

“Each year, LWV creates BINGO cards to make the SOTU a more engaging process.”

It also encourages voters to use the time during the speech to contact elected officials to talk about issues the country is facing at the moment.

Some of the squares on the League’s bingo cards include “Make America Great Again,” “The One Big Beautiful Bill” and “Bad Bunny.”

The conservative-leaning Washington Examiner has also created four different State of the Union bingo cards featuring “Trump’s typical jargon.”

“The bingo cards include phrases the president may say when delivering his remarks, including ‘affordability hoax,’ a reference to Democrats’ campaign strategy regarding the high cost of living in the country,” the Examiner writes.

“Trump is also known for insulting his political foes with offensive nicknames, like ‘Governor Gavin ‘Newscum’ or ‘Numbskull’ Jerome Powell, two bingo squares likely to be marked on Tuesday evening.

“The bingo card also includes squares that reference former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama.”
