New Airbnb hosts in Kansas City could be eligible for some quick cash during the 2026 World Cup.

Airbnb announced Wednesday, Feb. 18, that they are launching a new incentive program, which offers $750 to home hosts in any of the 16 World Cup host cities, as long as guests are welcomed by July 31, 2026. Kansas City is preparing for 650,000 people in the area when the tournament comes to town.

According to a study from Deloitte, Kansas City residents could earn $3,500 on average over the course of the event by renting their space on Airbnb .

“Demand for World Cup stays on Airbnb is surging, giving residents of host cities the opportunity to boost their incomes by sharing their homes and the communities they love. There’s truly never been a better time to become a host on Airbnb,” Dave Stephenson, chief business officer at Airbnb.

The company reported that searches for stays in host cities increasing by an average of 80% compared to the same period last year.

How can I list my Kansas City home on Airbnb?

Those interested can do the process online, where hosts can provide their information and publish their listing.

Airbnb provided a list of ZIP codes in the metro that are eligible for the $750 reward Airbnb. Those renting their home should meet the following criteria to be eligible for the money:

  • You must be a new host on Airbnb or have no active home listings as of Feb. 1, 2026.
  • Hosts must provide information on the reward landing page before publishing the listing, or have received the offer directly from Airbnb via email.
  • Hosts publish a listing for an entire home in an eligible event zone in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.
  • Hosts complete a reservation for that listing with a total price of at least $100 (or local equivalent) before taxes on or before July 31, 2026.

Eligible hosts will receive the money within 45 days of the completed stay. For more information on the incentive program, including the list of ZIP codes eligible for the incentive, visit airbnb.com.
