These KC businesses are celebrating Valentine’s with events, deals & specials
For those who don’t already have plans this Valentine’s Day, or are looking to make a day of it, these Kansas City businesses have menu specials and deals all over the metro.
You can see a festive movie, grab a themed drink, get a special dinner out or party in a range of special events for friend groups, couples and families.
Audrey’s Wine and Bourbon
The new wine and bourbon pairing bar in Waldo, 404 West 75th St., is celebrating both Valentine’s Day and their grand opening with live music featuring Carrie Cooley and Drew Madden Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m, according to a Facebook post.
Owners Laura and Howard Turley are using a unique concept of tasting top shelf bourbons and wines together.
Café Corazón
Cafe Corazon is hosting a Cafeciton party Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their Crossroads location, 110 Southwest Blvd. The theme is rojo y rosa (red and pink), according to an Instagram post.
There will be brunch, drinks, music, dancing, a bouquet pop-up and a Bad Bunny look-a-like contest.
The Brookside and Westport location will also have pop-ups from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fairway Creamery
For the ice cream lovers who would rather stay in, Fairway Creamery is offering a Valentine’s 6-Scoop Box ($25), according to a post on Instagram. Tasters are invited to guess the flavors on a sheet of paper that comes with the ice cream, rate them and flip the cartons over when they’re done to see if they guessed right.
No reservations are necessary, but Fairway recommends customers pre-order here through Friday to lock in their place. Pickup is available at both locations: 5938 Mission Road in Fairway from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 809 W. 17th St. in the West Side neighborhood from 4 to 9 p.m.
Local Pig
Those not wanting to sit at a restaurant can do a take-and-bake their Valentine’s dinner and dessert from River Market butcher shop Local Pig. For $69, shoppers get soup, salad, a choice of appetizer, baguette with truffle butter, a twice-baked potato, choice of two meat entrees (chicken, steak or smoked pork chop) and turtle cheesecake parfaits.
Orders can be placed on their website and picked up at their storefront, 20 E 5th St. Local Pig is open from 9 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Meddys
Meddys, a Kansas-based Mediterranean chain, is letting all ladies eat for free Saturday. Between 5 and 10 p.m., ladies can dine in at any Meddys location, picking from any of their shawarmas, bowls and falafels, according to a Facebook post.
Locations in Kansas City include: Brookside at 6301 Brookside Plaza, Prairie Village at 4105 W. 83rd St., Lenexa at 8810 Maurer Road and near Liberty at 8636 NE 85th St.
Seven Swans Creperie
Typically, a breakfast and brunch spot, Seven Swans, 1746 Washington St., is hosting a prix fixe Valentine’s Dinner from 5 to 9 p.m., according to a post on their Instagram.
For $40 per person, diners get a salad, a choice of savory crêpe and a Love Letter Crêpe created with Andre’s Chocolates (dark chocolate cheesecake tucked into a love letter chocolate crêpe, with sweet raspberry compote, coulis and fresh whipped cream) for dessert. No reservations are necessary.
Seven Swans will be open like normal from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offer the Love Letter Crêpe while supplies lasts.
The Dub
Kansas City’s first women’s sports bar is hosting a Valentine’s Day Dinner For Two, according to a post on their Instagram. For a total of $60, guests get a choice of two appetizers, two entrées and a dessert to share. Gluten-free options are available for every course.
The event is reservation only which can be made here. Seatings are at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., according to the post.
The Dub is also hosting a craft special for any night the month of February: The Dub Date Night. Two crafts, two cocktails and one appetizer are included for $89. No reservations are necessary. More information on that event can be found here.
Under the Cover
Kansas City’s first romance bookstore, Under the Cover, located in the Martini Corner neighborhood at 607 E. 31st St., will be hosting a permanent jewelry pop-up by Chain Theory from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, according to a post by Chain Theory.
Originally opened in 2023, Under the Cover sells a variety of romance books in wide variety of spice levels and tropes. It also sells book accessories, candles, stickers, merch, blind dates with a book and other gift ideas for avid readers. Hours on Saturdays are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
XO
The cozy hi-fi lounge and restaurant nestled at 709 W. 17th St. in the West Side neighborhood is hosting a candlelit evening Saturday with a custom dessert menu of tartlets, cakes and cookies by Nichole Taylor of Allouise Patisserie, according to their Instagram post. XO will also offer a specialty wine selection.
“Expect elevated Barry White covers, misty-eyed jazz classics and tunes for when the lights are low,” XO said in the post.
No reservation is required. The event will go from 4 p.m. to midnight.
Varsity Club, Screenland Armour Theater and Disco Burger Collaboration
From Thursday through Sunday, residents watching Wuthering Heights at Screenland Armour Theater, 408 Armour Rd., in North Kansas City can bring in their ticket stub to Varsity Club, 319 Delaware St., for a discount on the Spritz (aperitif, pistachio, cherry, bubbles; $10 with stub). Other featured cocktails for Valentine’s Day are the Choco Negroni (gin, campari, sweet vermouth, creme de cacao) and the Frozen Bellini (peach, bubbles and lemon).
Varsity Club is open Thursday from 4 to midnight, Friday 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Reservations for Screenland Armour can be made here.
Located at the patio of Varsity Club is Disco Burger, which will be partnering with Varsity Club and a “sorta Italian food and stuff” and have Dj Babababy Saturday night, according to a post on their Instagram.
Vine Street Brewing
From 7 to 10 p.m., Vine Street Brewing, Missouri’s first Black-owned brewery at 2010 Vine St. will celebrate Saturday night with DJ Jamel Rockwell who will be playing soul, hip-hop, R&B, according to an Instagram post. Cocktails will be available in the taproom. There will be no cover.
