Missing Overland Park man found dead near Tomahawk Creek Trail

Overland Park police located a man missing since Saturday dead near Tomahawk Creek Trail.

Joaquin Briceno, 36, was last seen around 3 p.m. Saturday walking with a black backpack near West 133rd Street and Antioch Road, Overland Park Police Department spokesperson Capt. Kyle Twaddle said in a press release Saturday.

Briceno was wearing a gray sweater, jeans, black Sketchers gym shoes and eyeglasses, Twaddle said.

Briceno was discovered near the Tomahawk Creek Trail at approximately 12:42 p.m. Monday, Officer John Lacy said in a press release Monday.

Investigators do not suspect foul play in Briceno’s death, Lacy said. The investigation is ongoing.
