‘Surprise, KC!’ The holidays are gone, but beloved Plaza lights are staying on

The iconic holiday lights at Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza will shine on into February, the shopping center announced Sunday.

“Surprise, KC!” the Country Club Plaza said in a social media post. “The Plaza Lights aren’t dimming anytime soon.”

The center’s holiday lights season was originally scheduled to wrap up Sunday, but an announcement from the Plaza said their run would be extended to Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.

“We’re honored to carry on this beloved tradition through the winter months and continue bringing a little extra light to our neighborhood,” the post said.

The Plaza’s holiday lights are a Kansas City tradition that stretches back to 1925.
