Two people suffered life-threatening injuries in a New Year’s Day stabbing in Kansas City’s North Town Fork Creek neighborhood, according to the Kansas City Police Department.

Officers responded to an incident at 4 p.m. at the intersection of MLK Boulevard and Cleveland Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found two people with stab wounds.

A preliminary investigation indicates that there had been a disturbance between the two, which turned into a physical altercation. This led to both of them being stabbed, police say.

Police are not looking for additional suspects at this time.
