Olathe police investigating crash that killed pedestrian

Olathe police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian Friday evening.

Police were called to the area of West 151st Street and South Black Bob Road around 5:30 p.m. on reports of a crash involving an SUV and a pedestrian, said Sgt. John Moncayo, a spokesman for the Olathe Police Department. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive 63-year-old man, who was taken to a hospital. He was later pronounced dead, Moncayo said.

Police are in contact with the driver of the SUV, and that person was cooperating in the investigation, Moncayo said.
