If you bought these frozen waffles in Missouri or Kansas, you could get money
Missouri and Kansas residents have until Dec. 16 to claim their cut of a multimillion-dollar settlement tied to a frozen waffle recall in 2024.
TreeHouse Foods, which manufactures private-label products for some of the nation’s largest grocery chains, agreed to pay $4 million to resolve allegations it sold frozen waffles and other breakfast products that were potentially contaminated with listeria, court documents show.
The items were later pulled as part of a voluntary recall at stores including Aldi, Dollar General, Target and Walmart, all of which have locations across the Kansas City area.
Here’s what to know as the deadline draws near.
Who’s eligible?
Anyone in the U.S. who bought affected TreeHouse Foods frozen waffle and pancake products “for personal, family or household use” between Oct. 18, 2024, and Sept. 2, 2025, is eligible to file a claim, administrators said. You can find the full list of covered products at treehousefoods.com.
How do I file a claim?
Claim forms can be submitted online, or printed and mailed to the claim administrator, the settlement website says. Forms can also be requested by email or phone at 1-888-688-4181. Regardless of how you file, all submissions must be sent or postmarked by Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Those who provide proof of purchase will recoup the full purchase price for each eligible product, inclusive of taxes. Customers without a receipt will be refunded the average price of two eligible products per household.
How much is the refund?
Customers can receive up to $50, though amounts may vary, administrators said.
When will I get paid?
A hearing to finalize the terms of the settlement will take place Friday, Dec. 12. However, administrators advised it’s “always uncertain whether appeals will be filed and, if so, how long it will take to resolve them.”
Refunds are expected to go out after the court approves the settlement, and after any appeals are resolved.
