Taylor Swift created a fashion firestorm when she began attending Kansas City Chiefs games in 2023. Every time she walked into GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, her fans clamored for everything she wore, from her jeans and jewelry to vintage Chiefs gear.
Where can we buy it?
To dress her like a football fan, her marketing team ordered several pieces of Chiefs gear from Kansas City’s West Side Storey, which proudly revealed it had supplied them.
Swift even wore a custom crocheted cap to one game that the store’s social media manager, artist Kathryn Cacho, made for her. Swift’s father, Scott Swift, wore one of the store’s sweatshirts when he attended his first home Chiefs game with his daughter.
Now we know that Swift wore her comfy Chiefs gear while working on her record-breaking Eras Tour, too.
She can be seen wearing one of the store’s rare, vintage Chiefs sweatshirts in the trailer for her upcoming docuseries, “The End of an Era.”
Cacho described the sweatshirt on social media Thursday.
“This piece is a rare AOP, which is just short for all-over print. It is from 1994,” she explains. “Designs like this wrap a garment fully front and back, which make them more expensive and harder to produce, which is why it’s special when you find a design like this.
“This is just a classic, 90s design, the little splatter paint and the spell-out text. Starter, Nutmeg and Salem were sort of the bigger sportswear companies in the 90s.
“This was made by True Fan, which is one of the smaller brands, which is why this design is much harder to find today and it just makes it that much more special.”
Swift is also seen wearing a vintage-style Chiefs T-shirt by Junk Food that is in limited quantities at places like Rally House ($42.99)
The six-episode docuseries, “The End of an Era,” debuts Dec. 12 on Disney+, the day before Swift’s 36th birthday.
