These restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving 2025 in the Kansas City area

From all-you-can-eat buffets to international specialties, you can find a delicious meal away from home in the Kansas City area on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, Nov. 27, and restaurants are preparing all over the area, from Lee’s Summit to Overland Park, Gladstone to the Plaza.

You’ll find a scrumptious meal no matter what you’re looking for: fine dining takes on turkey and pumpkin pie, classic buffets with all the fixings, or global flavors from Japan, Brazil, Vietnam and Italy.

In addition to local eateries, some chain restaurants will also be open on Thanksgiving, like Cracker Barrel, Denny’s and Waffle House. Hours vary by location, so call ahead to make sure your favorite spot is open.

Kansas City

Affäre

Celebrate Thanksgiving with a German twist in the Crossroads with Affäre’s two prix fixe menus.

  • Hours: noon to 7 p.m.
  • Price: traditional Thanksgiving dinner $56 per person, four-course meal $80 per person

Chaz on the Plaza

Located in the Raphael Hotel just south of Brush Creek, Chaz on the Plaza will serve four courses of classic holiday dishes.

  • Hours: 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. for Thanksgiving menu, 8:30 to 10 p.m. for limited á la carte items
  • Price: $60 per person for Thanksgiving menu

Lazia

This Italian restaurant at the Crossroads Hotel will serve a three-course Thanksgiving meals for two, with turkey tortellini and steak.

Fogo de Chão

As the Plaza lights are illuminated, load up on Brazilian meat at Fogo de Chão.

Kona Grill

On the north side of Brush Creek, Kona Grill will cook up seasonal dishes like pumpkin mocha martini and pumpkin lobster and mushroom ravioli.

The Northland

Broken Rice

Located in Gladstone, Broken Rice serves Vietnamese favorites like banh mi and pho.

Em Chamas Brazilian Grill

Enjoy a festive meal of all-you-can-eat Brazilian meat plus Thanksgiving specialties at Em Chamas Brazilian Grill in the Northland.

Piropos

A known date night of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, Piropos is an Argentine restaurant located in Briarcliff Village. Turkey and prime rib will be on the menu, alongside its usual South American-inspired dishes.

Three Owls at The Elms Hotel and Spa

Overnight guests and locals alike can enjoy a Thanksgiving buffet at the Three Owls restaurant inside The Elms, a historic Excelsior Springs hotel.

Garozzo’s will serve its regular Italian menu, alongside Thanksgiving specialties, at its two locations in Overland Park and Kansas City’s Columbus Park neighborhood.
