One dead, two injured after two-vehicle collision outside KCK community college

Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman Sunday morning outside the Kansas City, Kansas Community College.

Police were called around 9:15 a.m. to the intersection of College Parkway and Delaware Drive, where they found two damaged vehicles and people injured, according to Nancy Chartrand, public information officer with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.

Preliminary investigation indicates a truck was traveling south on College Parkway when it collided with a car that was attempting to cross College Parkway from Delaware Drive.

The driver of the car and a woman passenger were taken to a nearby hospital. The woman, who has not been publicly identified, died from her injuries, according to Chartrand.

The truck driver was treated for minor injuries and is cooperating with the investigation.

KCKPD’s traffic division is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
