Independence man killed after his SUV leaves road and crashes near Craig, Missouri
An Independence man is dead following a car wreck in northern Missouri.
Around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, a 45-year-old man from Independence was driving northbound on Missouri Interstate 29 near Craig when he traveled off the roadway in his 2008 Nissan Pathfinder and overturned, according to a crash report from the MSHP.
The man was ejected from the SUV, according to the crash report. The SUV came to rest on its wheels, and the man was declared dead at the scene around 9:45 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the man was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report. The car was totaled in the incident.
