Munday on Monday: Fire hydrants

The streetwork takes all summer’s time;

Replacing, too, the water line.

An oddity will now arise:

We’re double blessed — well, hydrant wise.

Where once a single hydrant rose,

Another now will also pose.

The old one? Yellow. And the new?

It’s of a somewhat orange hue.

(I bet when summer’s end draws near

That one of them will disappear.)

But as for now, here’s what we’ve got:

There’s one for cold and one for hot.
