Kansas City man rescued after possible electrocution while trimming trees

A Kansas City man is in critical condition Wednesday afternoon after he was shocked while trimming trees.

Kansas City firefighters were called at 1:12 p.m. to a high-angle rescue and possible electrocution in the 2400 block of Brighton Avenue.

There, they found a tree trimmer who had come in contact with an overhead power line, according to Michael Hopkins, Battalion Chief with the Kansas City Fire Department.

The tree trimmer was unconscious and suspended by his safety rope. He was lowered to the ground and taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, according to Hopkins.
