Pickup truck crashes into Kansas City dentist office. Driver flees scene on foot

Glass and brick litter the sidewalk outside of a dentist office in northeast Kansas City after a pickup truck smashed into it early Wednesday morning.

The Kansas City Fire Department was called to 4601 Independence Ave around 3:14 a.m. where they found a truck had crashed into the building. Those who were in the vehicle fled the scene, according to a KCFD news release.

Dangerous buildings were notified to board up the large hole in the front of the dentist office, according to the release. The extent of the damage to the building is not yet known.

No injuries were reported.

It’s not known if the driver has been identified.
