‘Help me I been kidnapped’: KC police probe after note sparks kidnapping rumors
Kansas City police are investigating after an ominous note detailing an alleged kidnapping was found in city limits.
The note was taken to the Kansas City Police Department on Sept. 15, department spokesperson Capt. Jake Becchina told The Star. Becchina would not disclose where the note was found, or other details surrounding the note.
The note, which was posted on the Facebook page KC Discover, reads, “Help me I been kidnapped… I’m [unintelligible]... I’m 10-years-old.”
The note also lists a license plate number for a black Tesla.
A search for the car’s license plate number on Kelly Blue Book lists a similar Kansas plate belonging to a 2025 Tesla Model 3 Long Range.
The Kansas City Police Department is investigating the note, Becchina said.
“We are aware of the reports and have an investigation underway now to determine any potential credibility,” Becchina said.
There are no current missing persons cases in Kansas City that involve a 10-year-old, Becchina said.
Two ten year olds are officially listed as missing in Kansas, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
Arielle Brown, 10, was last seen in the Wichita area on Sept. 6, 2025, according to the KBI. Vincent Moore, now 10 years old, was last seen in the Wichita area on June 18, 2015.
There are no 10-year-olds officially listed as missing in Missouri, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
